Palm Oil Cleanup: Emergency Spill Response

HazChem staged a 6.5KW generator, power sweeper and a drum-vac to start the remediation.
Our crew proceeded to collect the product waste in the drum-vac, filling up 55-gallon OTS drums, and using the power sweeper to prevent further spreading and move the waste closer.
Meanwhile, other members of the HazChem crew deployed oil dry into the area and the power sweeper removed the standing waste oil.
The crew worked the oil dry into the residual product waste for maximum absorption. There was an area of rock that was affected outside, so the crew cleaned the area manually. They dug 2”x5’ and placed the affected rock into 55-gallon OTS drums.
Once the area was void of all product waste and impacted oil dry, this spill generated eleven waste drums. The drums were sealed, properly labeled, and kept on-site. Final photos were taken and site remediation was approved for HazChem Environmental.
